Andrew Young, our founder and director, graduated from the first batch of building degree students in 1991 from Curtin University where he continued his career with John Holland Construction and was involved with the construction of many iconic projects around Perth such as the Barrack Street Jetty Development, Kings Park Restaurant and Cafè Development, UWA Agricultural Building and Garden City Extensions. He went overseas in 1996 with Leighton Contractors where he went on to build and manage numerous projects in Malaysia, Indonesia, the Middle East and Hong Kong.
Andrew returned to Australia in 2010 and in 2011 launched MZ Construction as he couldn’t find a builder to undertake a be-spoke house at Wembley Downs. The design of the house took in a radical approach at the time incorporating where ever possible passive design so that the house could be naturally cooled in summer and heated in winter. The house recently sold at a premium of $2.85M to the original selling price in 2013 which is a testament to the quality of the homes that MZ Construction do.
We are passionate about passive designs and use construction materials or methods of construction to improve this further where possible. We always look to utilise the latest products for our clients that are both cost effective and efficient to build with.
